Charity as a Virtue
In Freemasonry, charity is considered the greatest of the three Masonic virtues: Faith, Hope, and Charity. It represents selfless love and benevolence, extending to all humanity.

Masons are encouraged to practice charity quietly and sincerely, without seeking recognition. This may be shown through helping widows, orphans, the sick, or anyone in need.

Charity is not limited to giving money or material goods. It includes kindness, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and brotherly love.

Charity is often explained in Masonic lectures and rituals as a guiding virtue. It symbolizes the bond of brotherhood and the recognition of the divine spark in every person.

The idea of charity in Freemasonry is closely connected to the biblical teaching from 1 Corinthians 13:13, which states that the greatest virtue is charity. In this sense, charity reflects divine love.
